Courvix is a network of free internet based services. Currently, this consists of our email service, and our VPN service. The goals of these services are to offer another free alternative to paid VPN's and other email providers, although not necessarily to replace those entirely.
The services under the Courvix Network are free because for us, they're a passion. We do not wish to run these services with the sole intent of making money, however we accept money in the form of donations and advertisement revenue from courvix.com in order to help maintain this network.
As mentioned above, we make some money via donations and also through advertisements served on courvix.com. We also sometimes get donated servers by hosts or other trusted and vetted people.
We only accept servers from long time partners, trusted hosts, and vetted people. This is for security reasons.
We only turn over information that:
- We are obligated to do so by law using a signed subpoena/court order
- We actually have (obviously)
If we deem a legal request to be too broad or invalid, we reserve the right to deny the request or challenge it legally.
In cases of an immediate threat to life, we may not require a subpoena or court order.
No. Use any server as much as you like, download as much as you like, upload as much as you like.
As for what activities you can and can't do, you are bound by our global Terms of Service.
Yes.
Yes.
We currently support OpenVPN only but have plans to support WireGuard and proxies in the future.
To maintain some level of privacy, anonymity, and protect your residential connection from DDoS. Our goal isn't to make you completely anonymous or secure and never was. We simply offer a free solution to help improve those things to some degree. Our servers favor speed and DDoS protection (for the gamers) over some security features. This is one of the reasons we use AES-128 encryption over AES-256 or Blowfish equivalent; but this doesn't mean security is completely ignored. We still take it seriously.
We recommend using whatever is closest to you.
You can send and receive as many emails as you like with one limit being that you can send an email to a maximum of 5 recipients at a time, and send an email only once every minute.
Much like the VPN, you are also bound by our Terms of Service.
Is it possible? Yes. Do we do it? No.
If you're concerned about this, consider using PGP for anything sensitive.
It's also worth noting it would only be possible if you haven't deleted the emails from your inbox, as removing them this way also physically deletes them from the server.
Only if you have a recovery email assigned to your account which you would have been asked at registration.
You must have access to your email account. Send an email from the account you wish to be deleted to [email protected] to request deletion. Please note that if you do this, your account with us is erased and will be able to be registered again. Make sure you don't have any accounts linked to your email!
